Welcome

What happened to Eric St. George?

On 31 July 2016, the City of Lakewood police officers approached Eric St. George's home by stealth, under the cover of night.  They encircled the house, and laid in wait for hours. They searched his home through the open windows in the back yard.  LPD never knocked on the front door.  After midnight they called St. George on his cellphone, blocking their caller-ID.  When he came outside to look for the callers, LPD hid in the shadows.  The LPD plan was to ambush St. George in his own home.  After 4 more phone calls, the third time he stepped outside, St. George was armed with a shotgun, fearing a home invasion.  Officer Devon Trimmer opened fire from behind a pickup truck on St. George while he was walking the perimeter of his home.  No LPD officer ever shouted any warning, never ordered St. George to drop his weapon.

LPD did not have any warrant for St. George.

St. George was shot, and survived his wounds.  His return fire did not hit any of the hiding LPD officers.  St. George was charged and convicted of crimes to shield LPD against the liability for the unconstitutional conduct of their officers.
